My research focuses on the production, formulation, and reactivity of historical paint. I am particularly interested in the relationships between the structures and properties of inorganic pigments, the identification of chemical markers of historical painting techniques, and the alteration of historical paint layers, composite (inorganic pigment(s) + organic binder(s)) systems . My work is based on comparing the results obtained at the multi-scale on historical materials with analytical data collected on model samples, developed with increasing complexity.
